Introduction to Aeron
Low-latency messaging and fault-tolerant clustering for trading systems.
What you'll learn
- Aeron's design principles & history
- The three open-source components and how they fit together
- Where Aeron fits into market data & client order flows
- Real-world performance benchmarks (on-prem & in the cloud)
- How Aeron Premium extends the open-source stack
- A sneak-peek at Aeron Sequencer
Three components. One stack.
The Aeron® open-source ecosystem is made up of three components that build on each other.Aeron Transport
Delivers predictable single-digit microsecond latency and 20M+ msgs/sec throughput via secure unicast, multicast, and IPC messaging across on-prem and cloud, with Java, C/C++, and .NET support.
Aeron Archive
Allows message streams to be persisted to disk at full message rate, for replay in real-time or at a later date. This allows any service that may become disconnected to reconnect and reliably recover without message loss.
Aeron Cluster
Enables resilient 24/7 workloads in the cloud, on-prem or in a hybrid environment. Automatic failover with zero data loss takes less than a second, minimising the impact on your business and ensuring critical data is retained.
